An oldie but a goodie

Chocolate chip banana bread has been one of my all time favorite desserts since I was a child. Recently, I have been making one almost every week and I realized, why stop with the chocolate chips? Why not add cocoa right into the batter...

I went on the hunt to see if others were making this "double chocolate banana bread", and sure enough, they were. I found a lot of recipes that used vegetable oil and brown sugar, but from prior experience, I don't like those substitutes in banana bread. Because I love my current chocolate chip banana bread recipe, I used that as my base and adjusted the ratio of flour and added cocoa to the batter.

After venturing into uncharted territory I have to say it turned out to be quite the delicious and gooey (slightly under-cooked), chocolate and banana master piece. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to spice up their classic banana bread.
