Who knew chocolate Chip cookies had brown sugar?

I am really tired of making a recipe without a key ingredient. This time it was chocolate chip cookies. These came out kinda funky because I didn't have brown sugar. I really had no idea all chocolate chip cookie recipes had brown sugar.

These cookies came out looking like they needed a nice tan. They are probably lacking color because I didn't have brown sugar and I used vegan butter. Due to the apocalypse, the store didn't have real butter.

The flavor wasn't that different but the color and texture were not your typical chewy choco chip cookies. I would not recommend forging the brown sugar, it is just not the same. The cookies were more like biscuits.
